DISTILLATION

H. S. Martin produces standard and custom Distillation Systems from 100ML to 100 gallons. Batch sizes of 200 Liters may be attained in Spherical glass and to 100 gallons in stainless steel vessels.

H. S. Martin manufactures many types of systems for performing varying types of separation processes. Systems can be made to operate at atmosphere, or under vacuum and can be made of glass or stainless steel. H. S. Martin offers a variety of standard systems for use in performing several ASTM methods including D-2892, D-5236, D-1160 and others. Some of our systems for separation include:

  • Extraction

  • Adsorption

  • Chromatography

  • Evaporation

  • Distillation
The size and types of components used in these systems are varied and numerous. For example:
  • Flasks can be jacketed or use heating mantles

  • Columns can utilize perforated trays, or use various packing designs and be jacketed or use heating mantles
  • Liquid dividers can be automatic or manual, swinging bucket design, valve actuated or continuous take-off

  • Condensers may be water-jacketed, coil-type or cold finger type
  • Product coolers maybe water jacketed or coil-type (product flows thru coil or over coil)

  • Receivers may be of various capacities, jacketed or unjacketed, systems can utilize multiple receivers

  • Support structures (frameworks) may be galvanized pipe using structural slip-on fittings, or be welded stainless steel, can be stationary or use castors, frameworks for laboratory systems are constructed of epoxy-coated steel with stainless steel supports.
